About ZEBO

What is ZEBO?
ZEBO is where friends help you get cool stuff. On ZEBO, you can create a personalized profile about what you own, want, and love to shop for. You can check out what other people have and want, get and give valuable tips and advice, talk online about your shopping needs, discuss products with your friends, and, of course, shop! You can ask questions and create polls to find out people’s opinions. You can create photo albums and share them with your friends, invite more friends and meet new people.

Team ZEBO is constantly thinking up new ways to make sure that your ZEBO experience is as fun and exciting as possible. Rest assured that there are always new things around the corner at ZEBO.com. Keep checking in!

Is ZEBO available in languages other than English?
Nope, ZEBO is presently only available in English. However, if you’re a member of one of the ZEBO communities around the globe that speaks a language other than English, you may have noticed that we’ve translated some bits of our site into other languages. We like to say ‘hi’ in your language.

Does ZEBO have an age limit?
Yes! Our services are available to persons above the age of 13 only.

Is ZEBO free?
Creating your profile on ZEBO and using all our fun online features is free and easy. However if you wish to purchase a product from the shops on ZEBO, then you will have to pay for that particular product. Easy, but not free.

How can I contact ZEBO with any problems, suggestions or comments?
Visit our Customer Support page. Explain your problem or leave your suggestion or comment. We will reply to you shortly. We value your input – let us know how ZEBO works for you!

You can also post your concern in the Using ZEBO category of ZE’Buzz. Often, other ZEBO members can answer your question. ZEBO staff checks out the message boards, too.


Site Rules

Posting is a privilege.
We’re glad you’re a member on ZEBO, but this is a site for all Members. So it’s up to you to play nice. One of the jobs of the Site Moderators is to alert Team ZEBO of any Members who are abusing this privilege. We will suspend your account if you can’t play by the rules.

No Swearing, etc.
There are a lot of people on this site. Most of them are really nice people who have no interest in reading foul language. We think you’re intelligent and creative enough to make your point without being nasty.

Again – community site, so no swearing, no discriminatory remarks, no inflammatory remarks, no being mean or rude to other Members. If we catch you doing any of this, we will suspend your account.

No fighting with the Site Moderators
Site Moderators are acting on behalf ZEBO. Their job is to keep the site neat and clean. Your posts may get re-categorized or removed. If this happens, don’t stress out about it. If it was important and it was removed for no good reason, send us an email and we’ll look into it. (By the way, if we catch any Site Moderators abusing their privileges, we’ll boot ‘em. We want them to make the site better for you, not mess it up.)

No email addresses or SPAM.
Please don’t include your email address in any posts (not even in a signature file.) Spammers use automatic programs called “Bots” that will tear through all our posts if there are email addresses in there. These can overload our server.

Also – Don’t post SPAM! If we catch you posting SPAM we will suspend your account.


Log in/ Sign in Problems

I can't register on ZEBO.
Make sure you have filled in all required fields on the Registration page. Please double check the following:

  • First Name is 4-20 characters, with no spaces or special characters
  • Last Name (same requirements as First Name)
  • ZEBO Username (same requirements as First Name)
  • Password is 6-23 characters
  • Email Address is valid (email@yourdomain.com)
  • Country and Gender are selected.
  • Birthday is entered correctly
  • Image Verification code is entered correctly

If you see a message that your email address is already registered, then click here: Forgot Password. We’ll email you a link you can follow to reset your password.

I forgot my ZEBO Username and/or my Password
For security reasons, we don’t keep track of your password, so you’ll have to reset it. Click Forgot Password and give us the email address you used to register. We'll send you an email containing your Username and a Change Password link. (If you use Hotmail or other web based email and don’t see our email in your inbox, check your bulk or junk mail folders. If it’s in there, please take a moment to mark us as a safe sender so it doesn’t happen again!) Once you reset your password, write it down somewhere safe.

If you have forgotten your password AND you no longer have access to the email address you registered with, you will need to create a new account. We can’t change the email address on any ZEBO account. It’s important to use a valid email address when you register at ZEBO so we can send you link to reset your password.

How do I change my password?
Log in and click on the My Account link in the top right corner of any the page. Click the Change Password link. Enter your current password. Then enter your new password, verify your new password, and click Change Password. It will be valid immediately.

How do I change my registered email address and/or ZEBO Username?
It's not possible to change your registered email address or your ZEBO Username at this time. You can change the display name on your profile.

How do I change the display name on my account?
Your display name is the one that shows on your profile and when you send messages or post topics. To change this, log in and click Edit My Profile under your profile photo. You can change the information in the First Name and Last Name fields. Don’t forget to click Save Changes. You cannot change your Username or registered email.

How can I cancel my account?
Click on My Account at the top right of any page. Click Cancel My Account. On the next page, please let us know why you are leaving ZEBO, and we’ll cancel your account.


My Profile Page

How do I edit my Profile?
On your Profile Page below your profile photo there is a link to Edit My Profile. On this page you can change some of the Personal Information you entered when you registered. (You can not change your Username or email.) You can also update your Additional Information (like your Interests) and your Favorites (Brand, etc.)

Make the changes you want and click Save Changes.

How do I upload a Profile photo?
To upload your main profile picture, log in and click Edit My Profile under your profile photo. Then click the Browse button below your photograph and choose the picture on your computer that you want to upload. After choosing the picture, click Upload. Please do not put any offensive photos as your profile photo.

If your new picture does not show up right away, press the F5 button on your keyboard. The page will refresh and you should see your new picture. Your updated picture may appear right away on your view of your Profile Page, but other ZEBO members may not see it for up to 24 hours.

What kinds of photos can I upload on my Profile?
You can upload .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF and .PNG formats only. Photos can be no larger than 1MB and no smaller than 50 x 50 pixels is allowed.

The following types of photos are strictly prohibited:

  • Copyrighted or trademarked material.
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit material.
  • Violent or racist material.
  • Blurred, damaged or corrupted.
  • Material that otherwise violates the ZEBO Terms of Use.

Photos that are in violation of these terms will be removed and may result in suspension of your account.

How many pictures can I upload?
You can only have one profile photo, but you can create photo albums. Click here to read about Photo Albums.

How do I personalize my profile page background?
Click Edit my Profile under your profile photo. At the bottom of this page you can copy and paste any My Space layout code (check out your Friends’ pages or search the web for My Space layouts) into the My Personalization text area. Click Save Changes and your background will be up. Though you will see it immediately, your friends may not be able to see it for up to 24 hours. (Your personalized background will only show on your Public Profile. To see it, go to Edit My Profile then click on View My Profile as Others See It.

How can I hide my age?
Click Edit Profile under your profile photo. Check the box to the right of your birth date that says Hidden. Click Save Changes.

Remember: You must be 13 years old to join ZEBO.

What is a tagline?
Your tagline appears right below your profile photo on your public Profile Page. It’s a short line (up to 103 characters) that says something about you. Be creative with it!

What is my Public Page?
Your Public Page is how others see your profile. To view your Public Page, click Edit Profile under your profile photo, then click View my page as others see it at the top right of the Edit My Profile page.

How do I add or delete an item to my What I Own or What I Want lists?
To add an item to either list, click on View All above either your What I Own or What I Want items on your Profile Page. This will take you to a page where you see a tab for each list. Choose the appropriate tab, then click the Add Item button to add a new item.

To delete an item from either list, simply click the trash can icon underneath the item picture.

What are Bulletins?
A bulletin is a message that you post to all your ZEBO friends at one time. There are also bulletins posted by Team ZEBO to let you know about things happening on the site. Bulletins are removed after 30 days.

How do I post a Bulletin?
In the Bulletins section of your Profile Page, click Post a Bulletin. Give your Bulletin a subject and write it! Click Preview to see what it will look like. When you’re ready to put it up, click Post.

Can I (or someone else) reply to a Bulletin?
Yes. If you click on the bulletin title, you will see a button that says Reply to Poster. This will send a message to that person’s ZEBO Inbox.

Can I delete a Bulletin? How long do Bulletins stay up?
No. Bulletins stay up until they expire in 30 days.

Can I change how many Bulletins appear on my page?
Sorry, no.

How do I leave a Comment on someone’s Profile Page, What I Own/Want item, blog entry, or photo?
There are two ways to leave a comment on someone’s page: Click Add Comment under their profile photo, or click the Add link in the Comments header. (Comments are on the right side of the Profile Page.)

You can also comment on people’s What I Own items, What I Want items by clicking Write Comment below the item.

To comment on pictures in a Photo Album, scroll to the bottom of the page to type your comment in, then click Add Comment.

To comment on a blog entry, click View All in the ZEBO Blog header, then click Comment below the blog you want to comment on.

Can I delete other people’s Comments on my page?
Yes.

Is there a limit to how long messages will stay in my ZEBO inbox?
No. Messages will stay in your inbox until you delete them.

How do I block people from sending me messages?
As of now you are not able to block people from sending messages to your ZEBO Inbox. We are working on continually improving our site and this feature will be available soon.

What are Updates?
Updates are how we let you know what your friends are doing on ZEBO.

Can I stop receiving Updates?
Nope, not at this point.

What is my Wish List?
The Wish List is an area on your Profile Page where you can list all the ZEBO Products that you find interesting and appealing or products that you want to buy in the near future. It’s a great way to let people know what to buy you! To add products to your Wish List, just click the ‘ADD TO MY WISH LIST’ button in any item listing in ZEBO Shops. The item will automatically be added to your Profile Page.

What is Stuff I Bought?
Any product that you buy from the Shops on ZEBO is automatically added to the Stuff I Bought section of your Profile Page.

What is my Shopping Style?
You tell us! Shopping Style is a section of your Profile Page where you can tell people what kind of stuff you like to buy, what you’re good at shopping for and what you need help with. To edit your Shopping Style click Edit Profile under your profile photo and click the Update Shopping Style link on your Profile Page.
Make the desired changes and save them.


Friends on ZEBO: Invite & Manage Friends

How do I invite people to join ZEBO?
Click Invite in the global header at the top right of any page. Enter the email username and password for the address book you’d like to use. (We never save your passwords.)

We’ll show you a list of people in that address book and we’ll tell you if they are already your Friend on ZEBO, if they are a ZEBO member but not your Friend, or if they are not on ZEBO at all. From this page you can add current Members as Friends or you can send email invitations to the people you want to join ZEBO.
Invitations will expire 30 days from the date they are sent out. If you want to remind your friends to accept your invitation, you can do so in the Pending Invites.

You can also invite friends from the View All Friends page. To get to this page, click Friends under your profile photo. You’ll see a button to the right of the tabs. Click this button to choose an address book.
If you want to enter email addresses manually, you can do this at the top of your Profile Page.

Remember: We don’t send invitations to anyone that you do not select.

How do I add existing ZEBO members to my network?
Click on the Add as a Friend link under the profile photo of the person you want to add to your network. We’ll alert them that you want to add them and they can accept or reject your request.

Can I block invitation emails from ZEBO?
ZEBO invitation emails are sent through ZEBO by a ZEBO member who already knows your email address and wants you to join ZEBO. We do not send invitations randomly.

If you still wish to block ZEBO invitation emails, click on the Opt Out link in any one of the Invitation emails.

How do I Accept a Friend’s Invitation? (for current ZEBO members)
Log in and approve the Invitation on your Profile Page.

Or you can accept your friend’s invitation from the email sent to your registered email address. Click on the link in the email and you’ll be prompted to log in. Once you’ve logged in your friend will automatically be added to your Friends List.

How do I see pending invitations to people who I have invited but who have not yet joined ZEBO?
Click Friends under your profile photo to get to the main Friends page. Click the Pending Invitations tab to see all the people you have invited who have not yet responded. Invitations expire 30 days from the day you send them, so you may want to remind your friends to accept your invitation.

To send a reminder, click the Pending Invitations tab. You will see all the people you have invited who have not yet responded.

Click the Send Reminder link underneath the person you wish you send a reminder to.

How many friends can I have?
There is no limit to the number of Friends you can have on ZEBO.

How do I invite friends from my address book if I have a .co.uk address?
Unfortunately, you can’t. You can enter email addresses manually from your Profile Page.

How do I remove a friend from my friends list?
Click Friends under your profile photo to see the list of all your Friends. Click the Delete Friend icon by the Friend you wish to delete.

How do I send messages to my Friends?
Click on the Send message link under that Friend’s profile photo.


ZEBO Groups

How do I find a Group to join?
To search for Groups by category: Click Community in the main header. Then click Groups and you will see a list of categories. Choose one that interests you and you’ll see a list of Groups in that category. To join the Group, simply click Join this Group.

How do I create a Group?
Click on the Create A Group button. You’ll be prompted to enter a name, a category, and details about your Group and then you can invite your friends.

Why can’t I change the photo in my Group?
Only the Group Owner can change the main Group photo. If you’re the group owner and still can’t change the photo, contact ZEBO customer support.

How do I start a Group photo album?
Click View Group Photos at the right side of the Group Home page. On the next page you’ll see any existing photo albums.
1. To add a photo to an existing album, click on the main picture of that album, then click Add More Photos to the right of the picture.
2. To create a new album, click on Create a New Album at the right side of the page.

How do I leave a Group?
Click the Unjoin this Group link at the top right of the Group Home page.


Get Answers / This or That / Polls

How do I ask for product advice?
There are four ways to ask questions on ZEBO: Get Answers, This or That, Polls, and Hot Topics. The first three are geared toward getting advice from other ZEBO members about what to buy.

Get Answers: To ask a question, click on Product Advice in the main header to get to the main product advice page. Type your question into the text box labeled Ask and click Post a Question. You’ll then have a chance to enter details about your question, select a category, and upload a photo. After you click the Ask Question button you will have the chance to send your question to friends. When anyone answers your question, we’ll notify you by email.

This or That allows you to ask the ZEBO community to help you decide between two or more things. (You can have from two to four choices.) To create a This or That, click On Product Advice in the main header. Click Create n the This or That box on the main Product Advice page. On the following Create Your Own This or That page, enter your question, choose a category, upload pictures of things you want to help deciding between and add details about your question. When you click Done! you can choose friends to email your question to. When anyone answers your question, we’ll notify you by email.

Polls: To create your own poll for your friends to answer, click Product Advice in the main header, then click Create Poll in the Poll box on the main Product Advice page. On the Create a Poll page, enter your question. Write two to five answers for people to choose from, choose a category, and enter details about your question. After you click Create Poll you will be able to email your poll to friends. When anyone takes the poll, we’ll notify you by email.

In addition to being sent to your friends, Get Answers, This or Thats, and Polls will also be posted in the appropriate category of the Product Advice page for all to see.

How do I answer questions on ZEBO?
Click Product Advice in the main header. On the main Product Advice page you can browse through Get Answers Questions, This or Thats, and Polls that other members have created. Or you can choose a specific category from the list at the left.

How do points for answering questions work?
You start with 100 points.
Ask a question: - 5 points
To answer a question: + 2 points
Vote for a best answer for someone else’s question: + 1 point
Choose a best answer for your own question: + 3
Have your answer chosen as best answer: + 10 points

What are Hot Topics?
This is where we house ZE’Buzz, our message board.

To post a message: Choose a product category that you want to talk about. If you have something to talk about that is not product related, we have the Everything Else category. Once you choose a category you’ll see all the topics in that category. If you want to start a new topic, click the Start New Topic button at the top of the page.

You can cut and paste images into your ZE’Buzz posts to make them more interesting and to illustrate your points.

You can choose to receive email notifications when new replies are posted to a conversation.


Photo Albums

How do I create a Photo Album?
Click on Photos under your profile photo. Click the Create New Album button at the top right of the Photo Albums page. Give your new Album a name, category, description, and tags, and click Submit. Choose a photo from your computer and click Upload. Give your photo a title and a description then click Add Another Photo or View All, if you’re done.

Can I delete a photo from a Photo Album?
At this time, you can only delete an entire album, but we’re working on it!

How can I share a Photo Album with friends?
Click Photos under your profile picture to see all your Photo Albums. Click the Share Album link under the Album you want to send to friends. You can send an Album either by choosing names from an email address book or by typing in email addresses by hand. Click the Share Album button and your friends will receive an invitation and a link to view your Album.

How do I view my friends’ Photo Albums?
Click on the Photos link beneath your friend’s profile photo to see their pictures.

How do I post an Album on another site?
We give you code for each album so you can post it on your profile pages on other sites. Just cut and paste it!


ZEBO Blogs

Your ZEBO Blog is on your Profile Page. It’s a great place to write about your shopping experiences so your friends (and other ZEBO members) can get good ideas from you about what’s hot and where to get it! You can read theirs to get new ideas yourself. You can edit or delete your Blog entries at any time.

To write a ZEBO Blog click Create in the ZEBO Blog Section of your Profile Page.

  • Write your blog and click Preview and Publish
  • When you’re previewing your blog you can add a picture to make it more interesting.
  • When your blog is just how you want it, click Publish. Your blog will appear right away on your list of blogs, but other ZEBO members may not see it for up to 24 hours.

How can I edit a ZEBO Blog?
To edit a ZEBO Blog entry:
Click the Modify Button of the ZEBO Blog entry that you want to edit, change the text and/or the picture, and click the Update Button to display your Updated entry. Your updated blog will appear right away on your view of your Profile Page, but other ZEBO members may not see it for up to 24 hours.

How can I delete a ZEBO Blog entry?
To Delete a ZEBO Blog entry click Delete at the end of the entry. If you really want to delete the entry, click Confirm and it will be deleted.

How many ZEBO Blog entries can I create?
There is no limit to the number of ZEBO Blog entries that you can create. In default mode only the two most recent entries will show up on your Public Profile Page. If you want to change this, click on Account Settings at the top of the page and you can choose to display from 1 to 10 blog entries. To view all the entries on your Public Profile Page or anyone else’s Profile Page, click the Read All button above the blogs.

Is any sort of content NOT allowed on a ZEBO Blog?
Like anywhere else on ZEBO, you are not allowed to post or upload any content that is copyrighted, unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, racial, vulgar, obscene, commercial email or "Spam", any material that contains software viruses or content that is invasive of another's privacy.

What’s a Blog Fan?
A Blog Fan is a member who has subscribed to another member’s blog

How do I subscribe to someone’s Blog?
Click the Subscribe link in the header of the Blog section on that person’s page. We’ll send you an email when that person posts a new blog.

What is WIWT?
WIWT stands for What I’m Wearing Today. It’s a way for you to show people your personal style. Your WIWT Blog functions just like the regular ZEBO blog.

In default mode only the two most recent entries will show up on your Public Profile Page. If you want to change this, click on Account Settings at the top of the page and you can choose to display from 1 to 10 blog entries. To view all the entries on your Public Profile Page or anyone else’s Profile Page, click the Read All button above the blogs.

How do I search for something on ZEBO?
The Search field is to the right in the main header of every page. Type in your inquiry and we’ll give you the pertinent results for people and things on ZEBO.


Site Moderation

About Site Moderation
Site Moderators are here to help make sure the site stays nice and clean – things are in the right place, people are not swearing, posting spam, or being mean to each other. Sometimes we call them ‘Site Mods’. Site Mods are responsible and active members of ZEBO — People we can trust to make sure that everyone is playing by the rules. To read those rules again, click here.

Moderator Rules

These are the rules that the Site Moderators follow:
Keep It Neat and Clean
Site Moderators (we call them ‘Site Mods’) are on ZEBO to make sure that all Members are playing by the Site Rules.

Set a Good Example
Site Mods are role models to other Members. Their behavior (including their profiles, participation on message boards, etc.) should set an example.

Be Friendly, Stay Neutral
Even though Site Mods may have friends on ZEBO (we hope so!), they should not allow their personal feelings to influence their judgment about the content of the site, or the behavior of the members. These rules are defined by ZEBO and the Site Mod's personal feelings have nothing to do with them.

Everything For a Good Reason
Site Mods have the right to take action if they think that a Member is breaking Site Rules. They are not allowed to take action because they don’t agree with content or the Member who submitted it. Please be advised, that deleted message board posts are stored in a special area for dispute resolution.

Let People Know What You’re Doing and Why
Any action by a Site Mod should be justified and the Member against whom the Site Mod is taking action should be aware of the reasons which caused that action. Under no circumstances may a Site Mod take action without explaining the action to the offending Member.

No One is All Powerful
As always, if you disagree with something a Site Mod has done, you can contact Team ZEBO and we will investigate the action.

Buying on ZEBO

How do I shop on ZEBO?
Click the Buy/Sell tab at the top of any page. You’ll see what members are selling. If you want to shop by Category, click Shop By Category in the header.

When you see a product that interests you, you can click on it to see more information and larger pictures.
If you want to buy the item, click the Buy button in the listing. You will be taken to the Submit your Purchase Page, where your Purchase will be finalized after you submit your order. You can pay for your purchase with PayPal or with a Credit Card.

A ZEBO Product Purchase Confirmation Mail will be sent to your registered ZEBO email address from ZEBO Sales with a link to pay for the Product you have bought in case you don't want to pay for it immediately.

What are the available payment options?
Presently we accept Paypal as a payment Option. We also accept all major credit cards.

To pay through Paypal, Click the BUY button on the Product Page of that Product. You will be taken to the Review and Commit Page where you need to submit the Order. After that you will be taken to the Choose Payment page where you need to choose the Payment method as Pay with Paypal. You will then be directed to paypal to pay for the Order.

To pay by Credit card, Click the BUY button on the Product Page of that Product. You will be taken to the Review and Commit Page where you need to submit the Order. After that you will be taken to the Choose Payment page where you need to choose the Payment method as Pay by Credit Card(using our secure server). You will then be taken to a page where you have to enter Credit card and Billing Address Details. You will also have to submit Shipping Address details. You will finally go to the Order Confirmation page where you’ll be given a ZEBO Order Number.

A ZEBO Product Purchase Confirmation Mail will be sent to your registered ZEBO email address from ZEBO Sales with a link to pay for the Product you have bought in case you don't want to pay for it immediately.

Do ZEBO sellers ship outside of the US?
Presently our Products Ship to the US only. However in some time we will have Products, which will ship, to other countries too. We assure you that in due time there will be Products, which will ship to countries internationally too.

Whom should I contact in case I have any customer support related issues about the Product I have brought?
In case you have any customer support related issues about the Product you have brought, you will have to contact the Customer Service of the Merchant site(Seller) that is the Site from which your Product is bought. For example if your item is from Walmart.com, you will have to contact the Customer Care of Walmart.com. On contacting them, they will be able to give you the relevant information.

Why can’t I buy a Product from ZEBO?
In order to buy a product from ZEBO, it is compulsory that you validate your registered email address. Probably you haven't validated your email address and that's the reason why you cannot purchase an item from ZEBO.
