About Friday Tadka

What is Friday Tadka?
FridayTadka is where users talk about movies released in India. On FridayTadka, you can create your profile about which movies you've seen and would want to see. You can check out movies other people have seen and want to see, get and give advice on a movie, talk online about your movie experiences and discuss them with your friends. You can ask questions and create polls to find out people�s opinions. You can invite more friends and meet new people.

Team FridayTadka is constantly thinking up new ways to make sure that your FridayTadka experience is as fun and exciting as possible. Rest assured that there are always new things around the corner at FridayTadka.com. Keep checking in!

Is FridayTadka available in languages other than English?
Nope, FridayTadka is presently only available in English. However, if you're a member of one of the FridayTadka communities around the globe that speaks a language other than English, you may have noticed that we've translated some bits of our site into other languages. We like to say 'hi' in your language.

Does FridayTadka have an age limit?
Yes! Our services are available to persons above the age of 13 only.

Is Friday Tadka free?
Creating your profile on FridayTadka and using all our fun online features is free and easy.


Site Rules

Posting is a privilege.
We're glad you're a member on FridayTadka, but this is a site for all Members. So it's up to you to play nice. One of the jobs of the Site Moderators is to alert Team FridayTadka of any Members who are abusing this privilege. We will suspend your account if you can't play by the rules.

No Swearing, etc.
There are a lot of people on this site. Most of them are really nice people who have no interest in reading foul language. We think you're intelligent and creative enough to make your point without being nasty.

Again � community site, so no swearing, no discriminatory remarks, no inflammatory remarks, no being mean or rude to other Members. If we catch you doing any of this, we will suspend your account.

No email addresses or SPAM.
Please don't include your email address in any posts (not even in a signature file.) Spammers use automatic programs called �Bots� that will tear through all our posts if there are email addresses in there. These can overload our server.

Also – Don’t post SPAM! If we catch you posting SPAM we will suspend your account.


Log in/ Sign in Problems

I can't register on FridayTadka.
Simple - Just fill out the basic information in the Registration Page, Click the JOIN NOW Button and you're ready to go!!
Please double check the following:

  • First Name is 4-20 characters, with no spaces or special characters
  • Last Name (same requirements as First Name)
  • Friday Tadka Username (same requirements as First Name)
  • Password is 6-23 characters
  • Email Address is valid (email@yourdomain.com)
  • Country and Gender are selected.
  • Birthday is entered correctly
  • Image Verification code is entered correctly

If you see a message that your email address is already registered, then click here: Forgot Password. We’ll email you a link you can follow to reset your password.

I've forgotten my Password. What do I do now?
For security reasons, we don't keep track of your password, so you'll have to reset it. Click Forgot Password and give us the email address you used to register. We'll send you an email containing your Username and a Change Password link. (If you use Hotmail or other web based email and don't see our email in your inbox, check your bulk or junk mail folders. If it's in there, please take a moment to mark us as a safe sender so it doesn't happen again!) Once you reset your password, write it down somewhere safe.
If you have forgotten your password AND you no longer have access to the email address you registered with, you will need to create a new account. We can't change the email address on any Friday Tadka account. It's important to use a valid email address when you register at Friday Tadka so we can send you link to reset your password.

How do I change my password?
Log in and click on the My Account link in the top right corner of any the page. Click the Change Password link. Enter your current password. Then enter your new password, verify your new password, and click Change Password. It will be valid immediately.

How do I change my registered email address and/or Friday Tadka Username?
It's not possible to change your registered email address or your Friday Tadka Username at this time. You can change the display name on your profile.

How do I change the display name on my account?
Your display name is the one that shows on your profile and when you send messages or post topics. To change this, log in and click Edit My Profile under your profile photo. You can change the information in the First Name and Last Name fields. Don’t forget to click Save Changes. You cannot change your Username or registered email.

How can I cancel my account?
Click on My Account at the top right of any page. Click Cancel My Account. On the next page, please let us know why you are leaving FridayTadka, and we’ll cancel your account.


My Profile Page

How do I edit my Profile?
On your Profile Page below your profile photo there is a link to Edit My Profile. On this page you can change some of the Personal Information you entered when you registered. (You can not change your Username or email.) You can also update your Additional Information (like your Interests) and your Favorites (Movies, etc.)

Make the changes you want and click Save Changes.

How do I upload a Profile photo?
To upload your main profile picture, log in and click Edit My Profile under your profile photo. Then click the Browse button below your photograph and choose the picture on your computer that you want to upload. After choosing the picture, click Upload. Please do not put any offensive photos as your profile photo.

If your new picture does not show up right away, press the F5 button on your keyboard. The page will refresh and you should see your new picture. Your updated picture may appear right away on your view of your Profile Page, but otherFriday Tadka members may not see it for up to 24 hours.

What kinds of photos can I upload on my Profile?
You can upload .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF and .PNG formats only. Photos can be no larger than 1MB and no smaller than 50 x 50 pixels is allowed.

The following types of photos are strictly prohibited:

  • Copyrighted or trademarked material.
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit material.
  • Violent or racist material.
  • Blurred, damaged or corrupted.
  • Material that otherwise violates the Friday Tadka Terms of Use.

Photos that are in violation of these terms will be removed and may result in suspension of your account.

How can I hide my age?
Click Edit Profile under your profile photo. Check the box to the right of your birth date that says Hidden. Click Save Changes.

Remember: You must be 13 years old to join FridayTadka.

What is a tagline?
Your tagline appears right below your profile photo on your public Profile Page. It’s a short line (up to 103 characters) that says something about you. Be creative with it!

What is my Public Page?
Your Public Page is how others see your profile. To view your Public Page, click Edit Profile under your profile photo, then click View my page as others see it at the top right of the Edit My Profile page.

How do I add or delete an item to my I Have Seen or I Want To See lists?
To add an item to either list, click on View All above either your What I Own or What I Want items on your Profile Page. This will take you to a page where you see a tab for each list. Choose the appropriate tab, then click the Add Item button to add a new item.

To delete an item from either list, simply click the trash can icon underneath the item picture.

What are Bulletins?
A bulletin is a message that you post to all your Friday Tadka friends at one time. There are also bulletins posted by Team Friday Tadka to let you know about things happening on the site. Bulletins are removed after 30 days.

How do I post a Bulletin?
In the Bulletins section of your Profile Page, click Post a Bulletin. Give your Bulletin a subject and write it! Click Preview to see what it will look like. When you’re ready to put it up, click Post.

Can I (or someone else) reply to a Bulletin?
Yes. If you click on the bulletin title, you will see a button that says Reply to Poster. This will send a message to that person’s Friday Tadka Inbox.

Can I delete a Bulletin? How long do Bulletins stay up?
No. Bulletins stay up until they expire in 30 days.

Can I change how many Bulletins appear on my page?
Sorry, no.

What are Scribbles?
A scribble is a way for you to post stuff on your Friends pages which can be a simple message saying hi or a picture or anything interesting & FUN.

How do I leave a Scribble on someone’s Profile Page, I Have Seen/ I Want To See item, blog entry?
There are two ways to leave a Scribble on someone’s page: Click Add Scribble under their profile photo, or click the Add link in the Scribble header.

Can I delete other people’s Scribbles on my page?
Yes you can.

Is there a limit to how long messages will stay in my Friday Tadka inbox?
No. Messages will stay in your inbox until you delete them.

How do I block people from sending me messages?
You can block users from sending you message by clicking on the Block User link under their profile photo.

What are Updates?
Updates are how we let you know what your friends are doing on Friday Tadka.

Can I stop receiving Updates?
Nope, not at this point.


Friends on FridayTadka: Invite & Manage Friends

How do I invite people to join Friday Tadka?
Click Invite in the global header at the top right of any page. Enter the email username and password for the address book you’d like to use. (We never save your passwords.)

We’ll show you a list of people in that address book and we’ll tell you if they are already your Friend on Friday Tadka, if they are a Friday Tadka member but not your Friend, or if they are not on Friday Tadka at all. From this page you can add current Members as Friends or you can send email invitations to the people you want to join Friday Tadka.
Invitations will expire 30 days from the date they are sent out. If you want to remind your friends to accept your invitation, you can do so in the Pending Invites.

You can also invite friends from the View All Friends page. To get to this page, click Friends under your profile photo. You’ll see a button to the right of the tabs. Click this button to choose an address book.
If you want to enter email addresses manually, you can do this at the top of your Profile Page.

Remember: We don’t send invitations to anyone that you do not select.

How do I add existing Friday Tadka members to my network?
Click on the Add as a Friend link under the profile photo of the person you want to add to your network. We’ll alert them that you want to add them and they can accept or reject your request.

Can I block invitation emails from Friday Tadka?
Friday Tadka invitation emails are sent through Friday Tadka by a Friday Tadka member who already knows your email address and wants you to join Friday Tadka. We do not send invitations randomly.

If you still wish to block Friday Tadka invitation emails, click on the Opt Out link in any one of the Invitation emails.

How do I Accept a Friend’s Invitation? (for current Friday Tadka members)
Log in and approve the Invitation on your Profile Page.

Or you can accept your friend’s invitation from the email sent to your registered email address. Click on the link in the email and you’ll be prompted to log in. Once you’ve logged in your friend will automatically be added to your Friends List.

How do I see pending invitations to people who I have invited but who have not yet joined Friday Tadka?
Click Friends under your profile photo to get to the main Friends page. Click the Pending Invitations tab to see all the people you have invited who have not yet responded. Invitations expire 30 days from the day you send them, so you may want to remind your friends to accept your invitation.

To send a reminder, click the Pending Invitations tab. You will see all the people you have invited who have not yet responded.

Click the Send Reminder link underneath the person you wish you send a reminder to.

How many friends can I have?
There is no limit to the number of Friends you can have on Friday Tadka.

How do I invite friends from my address book if I have a .co.uk address?
Unfortunately, you can’t. You can enter email addresses manually from your Profile Page.

How do I remove a friend from my friends list?
Click Friends under your profile photo to see the list of all your Friends. Click the Delete Friend icon by the Friend you wish to delete.

How do I send messages to my Friends?
Click on the Send message link under that Friend’s profile photo.


Polls / Hot Topics / Reviews

How do I ask for movie advice?
There are three ways to ask questions on FridayTadka: Polls / Hot Topics and Reviews

Polls: To create your own poll for your friends to answer, click Opinion in the main header and then Polls from the sub-tab. Click Create Your Own Poll in the Poll box. On the Create a Poll page, enter your question. Write two to five answers for people to choose from, choose a category, and enter details about your question. After you click Create Poll you will be able to email your poll to friends. When anyone takes the poll, we'll notify you by email.

What are Hot Topics?
This is where we house Movie Talk, our message board.

To post a message: Choose a product category that you want to talk about. If you have something to talk about that is not product related, we have the Everything Else category. Once you choose a category you'll see all the topics in that category. If you want to start a new topic, click the Start New Topic button at the top of the page.

You can cut and paste images into your Hot Topics posts to make them more interesting and to illustrate your points.

You can choose to receive email notifications when new replies are posted to a conversation.
